There are plans for an R1 DVD release for Faces of Death (aka The Original Faces of Death) later this year.

Filming will start soon on Robert Rodriguez’s family comedy adventure Shorts. In it chaos happens after a boy in a generic suburb is hit in the head with a rainbow colored rock that grants wishes. It’ll star Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann, James Spader, Jimmy Bennett, Kat Dennings, Trevor Gagnon, Leo Howard, Devon Gearhart, Rebel Rodriguez, Jake Short, and Jolie Vanier. Rodriguez is writing, directing, producing, editing, and will be the director of photography and visual effects supervisor.

Danny McBride will star in David Gordon Green’s fantasy comedy Your Highness. The script, written by McBride, is about an arrogant lazy prince who must complete a quest to save his father’s kingdom. Production starts January, 2009.

Thomas Jane and Ving Rhames will star in action movie Give ‘em Hell, Malone. North by Northwest Prods is looking to start production in Spokane, Washington, in August.

Ewan McGregor will play Gene Vidal in Mira Nair’s Amelia.

Waddah Sari has joined Australian movie Cedar Boy.
