Prequels, Sequels & Remakes

MGM’s Mary Parent on RoboCop: "'RoboCop’ would be great in 3-D, as would something we're hoping to announce soon." Also, that they’re thinking of another Rocky. Why?

Eddie Murphy has signed to play Axel Foley in a fourth Beverly Hills Cop. It’ll be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventure and Paramount, with a 2009 production and a 2010 summer release. Brett Ratner is in negotiations to direct.

A sequel to The Other Boleyn girl is in the works. Based off another Philippa Gregory novel, The Boleyn Inheritance, it would told from the point of view of Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard.

Sony says that no one other than Tobey Maguire has been considered for the role of Spiderman. So if you’ve heard rumors, they’re just that.

Rainn Wilson will be in Transformers 2.

Chris Browning will be in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

Production on S. Darko has begun in Utah, and Elizabeth Berkley and Briana Evigan have been added to the cast.

Comic within the movie, Tales of the Black Freighter will be released as a tie-in DVD around Watchmen’s theatrical release in March. It will be followed about four months later by the DVD release of Watchmen itself and then an "ultimate" edition in which the two are edited together into one megamovie.
