Rod Serling was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame. Also inducted this year: Ian and Betty Ballantine, William Gibson, and Richard Powers. Ceremonies will be held June 21 at the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle.

Casting director Donna Belajac has been fired for making insensitive comments: "Some of these 'holler' people -- because they are insular and clannish, and they don't leave their area -- there is literally inbreeding, and the people there often have a different kind of look. That's what we're trying to get." I'd say that the hubbub is stupid, and that this is a lost opportunity for people who don't fit the Hollywood 'norm' to get a chance at being in a movie, and that I thought it was pretty funny - But I don't wanna be insensitive.
